Are you looking for any bands to play at the 2008 Fort Collins Tour De Fat? Or Possibly for 2009?

It seems like as there have been fewer and fewer performances each year, is there a reason for that?
Also, I would love it if you guys brang back the Yard Dogs and the Handsome Devils, they were fantastic in 2006!

I’d appreciate a slight bit more detail about the whole event in FtC for those of us who live elsewhere and haven’t experienced it in the past. For example, where exactly will performances take place? What is the parade route and how can you register to be part of it? Where does it start?

I have seen numerous different registration and start times for the parade around town….does the parade start at 10 or 11? In addition, is there a costume contest?

Regarding Comandment 3: May every generation come forth: This is a family friendly event. Costumes, bikes and a parade? We were thinking like kids when we created Tour de Fat
On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most friendly. How kid friendly is the event? I want to bring my 8 year old and 4 year old (the little one in a bike trailer). Will there be kid-appropriate libations available?

What is the parade route and is there a map available? Whatever happened to the longer bike ride north of town? Would love to see that again!
Looking forward to Saturday! Great event!

BikeMom: Good question. We have an eight year old and ten year old. We showed up in the afternoon last year and festivities were well on their way. The afternoon was a great time for adults, but probably a little too much for younger children. I think that the morning bike ride would be perfectly appropriate for the kids, but by the afternoon the adults and students are a few beers into the fun and you could depart in advance of that hour.

Once again we headed west for our favorite destination…Ft Collins and the ‘Tour De Fat’! Introduced to the early ‘Tour’ via participation in Lawrence Ks. when the fun was a bit more widespread we were..and are hooked! The parade ride was agin awesome, the fun at the party second to none, and the overall cause, combined with such a fun incentive makes New Belgian Brewery the best…by far!.. We’ll be back..many, many times…..hmmmm, wonder how long it would take to pedal that far?…Thanks to all who made this year such a wonderful time…Following our Folly…Mark n Shelia
